Bringing a unique piece of cinematic history to life
Weston Homes’ spectacular flagship project in Denham was situated on the former site of the famous film laboratories, where Oscar-winning films were processed and screened to directors including Stanley Kubrick, Steven Spielberg and Ridley Scott.
A host of classic films was edited at the studios, from the James Bond, Star Wars and Superman movies to Alien and ET. This gave us scope to embrace the site’s history in a unique and engaging way through the marketing materials. It also made for a fun launch night with some famous faces!

Restoring an icon
The Grade II Listed main building was restored to create a stunning centrepiece featuring the refurbished cinema and adjoining ‘actors’ bar’. This Art Deco heritage was reflected in all elements of the development, from the distinctive brand identity to the glamourous interior design.
From beginning to end
GQ saw the project through from conception to completion, creating the brand, signage and hoarding design, brochures, digital posters for the marketing suite, press advertising and launch video. Combining historical footage of the film laboratories in action with CGIs, animated fly-throughs and interior footage, the video was superbly received and succeeded in capturing the special heritage of the site and its unique revival.
